Count on control from Archer and Advion WDG to protect commercial food-handling operations

Pest control is a key component of any food safety protocol. You need reliable, effective solutions that meet safety regulations and are easy to employ in treatment protocols. Used alone or in combination with each other, Archer® insect growth regulator (IGR) and non-repellent Advion® WDG insecticide from Syngenta both provide effective, residual control of more than 20 food-handling pests like ants, cockroaches, beetles and pantry pests.

Archer: stops insect growth at the source

As an IGR, Archer interferes with the development of eggs, larvae and nymphs of labeled insects. By disrupting the reproductive cycle, Archer reduces overall pest population pressure, thereby improving the control offered by other insecticides. Regular applications of Archer in combination with an adulticide, like Advion WDG, help reduce pest populations and keep them from re-establishing.

The stable formulation of Archer with the active ingredient, pyriproxyfen, has low volatility, making it useful for residual control in food storage and non-food areas alike. Archer can be used indoors, outdoors, around buildings, in moist breeding areas like mulch and in standing waters found in gutters, drains and pools. Archer is also an integral part of the SecureChoice™ Mosquito Assurance Program and SecureChoice Flea and Tick Assurance Program, each of which provides guaranteed control of these pests by incorporating an IGR into the treatment protocol.

Advion WDG: flexibility for food-handling applications

Advion WDG offers the convenience of not having to shut down operations to make spot or crack-and-crevice applications in food-handling sites. As a non-repellent insecticide that is the only sprayable oxadiazine product available in the pest control market, Advion WDG offers an effective alternative to neonicotinoid or pyrethroid technologies, especially in sensitive areas like food-handling establishments, schools and hotels. It can be used on commercial accounts as a stand-alone treatment, or in conjunction with IGRs and baits, to give comprehensive knock-down and residual protection from pests like ants and cockroaches.

Advion WDG contains indoxacarb with a mode of action that isn’t activated unless the insect has the enzymes to activate it. Its non-repellency means Advion WDG can be transferred among the population of target insects for more thorough population control as quickly as 24-48 hours after application.

With Archer IGR and non-repellent Advion WDG insecticide, you can help protect the most sensitive sites from insect infestations. For more information about pest control in food-handling establishments, visit SyngentaPMP.com/Commercial.
