Even under pressure, Demand CS has American Pest covered

Whether treating exclusive event properties or residential backyards, American Pest in Fulton, Maryland, knows controlling mosquitoes, ticks and other pests is rarely an easy task.

When the company was asked to ensure that a high-profile client’s wooded farm site would go undisturbed by mosquitoes for an exclusive event, Wayne White, director of technical services for American Pest, was nervous about the end result.

“We were asked to do whatever we could to prevent the client from having a nightmare mosquito issue,” said White. “But given the elite client, the rural setting and a variety of factors we couldn’t control, we knew it would be a challenge.”

American Pest treated the pest-packed location with Demand® CS insecticide from Syngenta, and the event went off without a single complaint. “The customers reported that there were zero mosquito issues,” White said.

These results are one of many examples of the reliability of Demand CS for White, who has been using the product since it was introduced to the market more than 20 years ago.

A strong formulation that lasts

In response to concerns about the possibility of the Zika virus spreading to the U.S., calls to American Pest for mosquito control have increased 37 percent, and online mosquito control inquiries have increased by 31 percent.  Amid heightened concerns about mosquitoes and other pests this season, White and his company developed a new program that uses Demand CS as its foundation.

The American Pest Mosquito & Tick Program offers customers dual pest protection against mosquitoes and ticks, and uses Demand CS exclusively to treat both pests. Since its inception in early 2016, the program has resulted in the acquisition of more than 440 new residential accounts and counting.

The powerful, long-lasting protection of Demand CS, helps the company meet clients’ expectations. The active ingredient in Demand CS, lambda-cyhalothrin, is delivered in exclusive iCAP™ technology formulation developed by Syngenta and provides proven control for up to 90 days.

Results and support you can count on

When developing the new mosquito program, White knew the low-odor, non-staining formulation of Demand CS, which he has been using since it was originally brought to market, would provide the value and reliability his customers were seeking. “We would be confident using Demand CS should Zika-carrying mosquitoes appear in our area,” he said. “It’s a hallmark of our mosquito program.”

“As a company, we are hesitant to use generics,” White continued. “We put a lot of faith in manufacturers, and we’re not inclined to go down the road of using a generic manufacturer just to save a little bit of money.”

The durable microcaps that comprise Demand CS help it provide control that withstands the elements. An added benefit, he noted, is the customer support he receives from Syngenta.

“We have a great relationship with our sales representative, Dave McCormick,” White said. “What separates Syngenta from others is the level of customer and technical support that is provided.”

With a proven product and steadfast support, American Pest plans to continue using Demand CS for its customers’ pest control needs this summer.

“It’s about not having to search for another product because you’ve got the efficacy you need,” White affirmed. “It really benefits a business when you know day-in and day-out that you can count on a product like Demand CS.”

Demand CS offers broad-spectrum control of more than 30 pests including mosquitoes, ticks, ants, cockroaches, spiders and bed bugs. For more information, contact your local Syngenta territory manager.
