When treating for bed bugs, support your IPM approach with Demand CS or Tandem.

The difficult nature of bed bugs often means Pest Management Professionals (PMPs) must implement an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach to achieve the control they need. Both Demand® CS insecticide and Tandem® insecticide from Syngenta Professional Pest Management (PPM) can help provide effective control of bed bugs when used as part of an IPM approach.

Demand CS provides beg bug control with customers in mind

Demand CS is approved for crack-and-crevice treatments indoors where bed bugs are likely to congregate, as directed by the product label. It can be applied on bed springs and box frames, as well as in crevices along baseboards, beneath beds and furniture, and behind bed frames and headboards. With no visible residue and little to no odor, Demand CS can be an ideal choice for common bed bug application sites.

In addition to bed bugs, Demand CS also offers control at a low use rate for more than 30 insects including ants, cockroaches and mosquitoes. Studies show the active ingredient in Demand CS, lambda-cyhalothrin, can be 5 to 20 times more effective against insects than insecticides with other active ingredients.1

Tandem label approved for bed bugs

In addition to controlling more than 90 other pests, Tandem was approved for use on bed bugs in 2013. It can be used behind attached headboards, baseboards, moldings, doorframes, window frames, shelving, mirrors and picture frames, as well as around edges of carpet or other floor coverings.

With two active ingredients, lambda-cyhalothrin and thiamethoxam, Tandem allows technicians to carry a single product on their trucks to treat pests indoors, outdoors and in food-handling establishments, as directed by the product label. Its full turf-application label for lawns and landscapes further helps provide “cupboard-to-curb” control.

Shared features for added convenience

Demand CS and Tandem both feature the power of iCAP technology, a proprietary formulation innovation developed by Syngenta. When bed bugs cross a surface treated with Demand CS or Tandem, the microcaps in these products adhere to a bed bug’s cuticle, allowing the formulation to be spread to other bed bugs through contact. These microcaps of multiple sizes provide both immediate and residual control of bed bugs for up to three months.

While Demand CS and Tandem can both control bed bugs, the best approach utilizes a variety of IPM tactics. These can include such steps as inspection, sanitation and even mechanical controls such as heat, mattress encasements or traps. Once these tactics have been implemented, choose Demand CS or Tandem as your residual spray option to help provide your customers with an environment free from bed bugs.
